Review: It’s always a blast working with these guys (and girl). Halestorm is not only a VERY talented group of musicians, but, I can honestly say that they are on the top of my list of favorite bands to photograph. Lzzy (vocals) is extremely photogenic and always interacts with the photographers. Halestorm is one band that if you are given the opportunity to shoot them– TAKE IT!

Tips for the Future:

1. For great shots of Arejay (drummer) shoot him during the first song. He wears a costume during the first song.

2. Go listen to “Familier Taste of Poisen” and memorize that intro. As soon as you hear it on stage, follow Lzzy (vocals) with your lens. You WILL get incredible shots if  you just stay on her for the song.

3. When the trashcan looking drums get brought out, switch to a short wide-angle lens. The entire band will do a little drum ensemble that just begs to be photographed.

4. If you get to shoot their entire set, stick around at the end when they throw out sticks/picks etc. They throw everything they have on stage into the crowd and this can produce some great crowd interaction shots.
